A documentary / un-academic research project on challenging current leaders who are good at "getting things done" to also master the skills of "determining what to do". Exploring what could be changes in our society to systematically encourage more real leadership in schools and companies. My love / hate project with which I practice patience.

2010-2013 Consultant at McKinsey & Company
From intern (summer 2008) to consultant team member to project manager, every step of the way was full of experiences I am grateful beyond words for. I owe much of my lessons from real-life decision making, organisational behaviour, and making things happen to this unique company.

Pre-experience objective: Get to know why people in big organizations do the seemingly counter-intuitive mistakes they do – and what can be done to influence that. (Yes, I was very vocal about this when applying, and got in – kudos for the candid and broad-minded recruiting process.)
Post-experience life lesson: Nobody really knows how to do any of the things that we do in life. Life is too short for living someone else’s dream. It is better to get beaten up in a battle that you own, than to shine in a race that is not yours.

2004-2009 Helsinki University of Technology (Aalto University) B. Sc. (Tech.) 2007, M. Sc. (Tech.) 2009
First big step out of my comfort zone, to study two subjects I knew absolutely nothing about but wanted to master: business and technology (following my life navigation (random) algorithm to always go towards stuff that is unknown). The visionary pioneering study program of Information Networks gave me an opportunity to sneak a peek into the world of engineering, programming, systems thinking, societies big and small, and academia.
Pre-experience objective: Learn something about business and technology and figure out why that hasn't captured your interest thus far. Get rid of your fear/anxiety towards institutions where people keep passively repeating the same mistakes, day after day, week after week, year after year - living for weekends and holidays, anything but the work.
Post-experience life lesson: I do not want to get rid of my fear/anxiety towards institutions that are stuck. I want to use that as fuel in my life mission to question whether all this ignorance is needed, or whether there is in fact a better way to organise human action.
